In each era, university has had its own special requirements. In mediaeval period, there was educational university that it aimed to train society future leaders. In modern period, creation of knowledge was second goal of university and research scholars were new elites layer. In present period, it is started new era called digital era. Such an era would require a third-generation university with an emphasis on the transfer of capabilities to society. According to this, present research is founded to determine a pattern for revolution and recreation of university toward 3th generation university. By using documentary study and thematic analysis, scientific documents about the subject were studied. According theoretical sampling, 29 documentary resources were selected. The results show 154 thinking units in framework of 9 main themes such as performance results, leadership, strategy, governance, culture, structure, sources, relationships and process.
