Using meta-evaluation approach, the purpose of this study was to investigate the quality of the internal evaluation reports of educational departments of Iranian universities. This research was carried out in two quantitative and qualitative phases. In the quantitative phase, the target population consisted of all the internal evaluation reports of educational departments up to 2017. Using stratified random sampling, 36 reports from five humanities, engineering sciences, basic sciences, agricultural sciences, and art were selected as sample. In order to answer the research questions, a researcher-made questionnaire was used to evaluate the quality of internal evaluation reports. Using the inter-rater reliability, the reliability of the questionnaire was calculated 87%. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data. The findings of the study showed that the writing quality of internal evaluation reports was appropriate in different groups. Although in some cases, particularly in content quality, reports need to be improved.
