Achieving full employment or eliminating unemployment means overcoming poverty and reducing inequality, injustices and socio-economic inequalities. On the other hand, in today's world we are witnessing profound changes in the economies of countries. One of the most important developments in the world today is over the movement of societies towards the knowledge-based economy. Undoubtedly, the nature of jobs in this type of economy will be different from agricultural and industrial economics. For this purpose, in this paper, the effect of components of knowledge-based economy on the unemployment rate of selected developing countries during the period 2007-2016 was investigated using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM). In this research, variables such as government spending on education, number of scientific and technical articles accepted in prestigious journals, per capita mobile phone users and corruption control have been used. The findings of this study show that the variable effect of government spending on education on the unemployment rate of selected developing countries is positive and meaningless. The effect of the variable number of scientific and technical articles on the unemployment rate of these countries is positive and significant. Also, the results of this study show that the effect of per capita variables of mobile phone usage and corruption control on the unemployment rate of selected developing countries is negative and significant.
