The information revolution provided an opportunity for countries to use the knowledge and skills of human beings effectively in the new age to gradually overtake the foundation's source economy and move closer to the knowledge-based economy. The present study compares the impact of knowledge-based economics on the misery index in developing and developed countries in the period 1996-2016 using data panel econometric method. To study the effect of knowledge-based economy, four main pillars introduced by the World Bank have been used, which are: education and skills, efficiency system of invention and innovation, dynamic information and communication infrastructure, incentive system and economic institution. The results show that in developing countries the variables of education and skills components, dynamic information and communication infrastructure and efficiency of invention and innovation have a significant negative, positive and negative impact on the misery index, respectively, while in developed countries The study of the variables of the components of the economic motivational and institutional system and the efficiency system of invention and innovation have a negative and significant effect on the misery index.
