The aim of this article is to review the latest draft of the Iranian Islamic Progress Model to assess how well it aligns with knowledge, experiences, and the current state of Iranian society, as well as the uncertain and complex future ahead. The content analysis of the document requires revisiting certain critical past thoughts and critically integrating theoretical foundations with the latest global findings, which forms the methodology of this paper. The findings of this study indicate that the proposed document not only lacks connection with previous knowledge and experiences, but also ignored to the rather not so favorable current living conditions in the I. R. Iran. More importantly, it seems to fail in understanding and reflecting the complex future that contemporary knowledge and dominant approaches are unveiling for humanity. It appears that the dominance of a top-down approach and social engineering has led to a reductionist and overly simplistic view of the current issues facing Iranian society and the proposed solutions.
